The Castle Museum

Edinburgh Castle stands proud as one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and has more than a few historical tales to tell.

The Palace of Holyrood House

With its lush gardens and fairytale-like turrets, there is something magical about Holyrood Palace. It’s also the Queen’s official Scottish residence.

The Dungeons

Blood curdling screams and putrid smells - all kinds of wicked techniques are used at The Dungeons to recreate Edinburgh’s scary past.

The Scottish Parliament

An architectural highlight with a love-it-or-hate-it appeal. You’ve got to at least take a peek at the building that went ten times over budget.

National Museum of Scotland

Exhibits that transport you through Scotland’s past and bring you slap-bang into its present. Recently refurbished to include a scenic roof terrace.

Arthur’s Seat

This craggy extinct volcano sits within Holyrood Park and offers panoramic views across the River Forth and beyond to Fife.

The National Gallery Complex

A cluster of three inter-connected galleries, housing between them what seems like the whole alphabet of Scottish and world painting, plus seasonal exhibits.

Princes Street Gardens

As soon as there’s so much as a whiff of sunshine these gardens fill up. But despite the hubbub, they retain an air of peace.

Portobello Beach

Scotland isn’t famed for its tropical weather, but that doesn’t mean we don’t do nice beaches. Portobello is the closest to the city.

Royal College of Surgeons

Anyone interested in medicine - or looking at freakish body parts - will enjoy Surgeon’s Hall.
